Get creative with the 5th Annual Friends of Hayward Library Poetry Contest!
Hayward Unified School District students and Hayward residents in 2nd-12th grades are invited to write a poem on the theme:

Contest Rules
All Poetry Contest submissions must include the Poetry Contest Entry Form.
One poem per participant, please.
Poems must be submitted by Monday, April 22, 2019, to be considered.
Contest entries can be dropped off at the Weekes Branch or emailed to Sally.Thomas@hayward-ca.gov All Poetry Contest participants will receive a Certificate of Recognition by Hayward City Council at its public meeting on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 (starting at 6 p.m. sharp).
All prize winners will be contacted by phone and/or email.
Prizes
1st Place (2nd grade winner): $50
1st Place (3rd-4th grade winner): $75
1st Place (5th-6th grade winner): $100
1st Place (7th-8th grade winner): $150
1st Place (9th-12th grade winner): $175
Grand Prize winner will receive a Chromebook
