Chabot College Partnership

Chabot College and the Hayward Police Department are concerned about the safety and welfare of all members of the college community and are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all of our students. That is why the Hayward Police Department and the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District has formed a partnership to better address campus safety and security.

The Chabot College Department of Campus Safety and Security is comprised of a unique partnership between Chabot College and the Hayward Police Department. This blend of police and civilian staff affords a greater range of efficient services to our campus community. Officers are on duty at all times when classes are in session, and on weekends and holidays to patrol the campus. Officers enforce the laws of the United States, State of California and regulations adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

The department provides several different safety programs and measures to Chabot College students including:

  • Safe Ride Programs
  • Safety Through Environmental Design
  • Emergency Call Boxes
  • Emergency Campus Telephones

The Chabot College Safety and Security Department public office is located in room #203 in building 200. This office is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If the office is closed, the on-duty safety officer can be contacted by telephone in the following ways:

  • For emergencies, dial 911 from any phone
  • Activate any one of the emergency call boxes located throughout the campus.
  • Dial extension 6923 or 6666 from any college phone.
  • From any off-campus telephone dial 510.723.6923.
