Summer months bring fun, sun, and heat! Sometimes, the heat can become dangerous, especially for children, seniors, people who are homeless, people who work outside, and people with certain health conditions. Staying safe in high heat is important.
When it is unbearably hot in Hayward, community members are invited to come use on of our cooling centers to get some relief.

Hours: M-F 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. (during a Public Safety Power Shutoff by PG&E)
Hayward City Hall Rotunda - (Cooling and Charging Center)
Hours: M-F 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. (during a heat emergency)
Hayward Weekes Library
Hours: M-Th 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. F – S 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
South Hayward Parish
7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Southland Shopping Mall
10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
