The visit can include stories or book talks, a Library tour, browsing, use of reference tools, and checkout steps. Library card applications can be provided before the visit for parent/guardian signature, and the cards issued during the visit, if the applications are submitted two days before the visit.
During these pre-scheduled visits, students can learn about new books, listen to some good stories or booktalks, and hear about special events happening at the library.
Teachers may borrow up to 40 books at a time for classroom use for up to six weeks without overdue fines. Select your own books, or ask a Librarian for suggestions. Librarian book selections will be ready one week following your request. Also get a special Teacher Loan Card at the Circulation Desk at either the Main Library or at the Weekes Branch Library.
- Classroom Assignment Resources
Notify the Library in advance about assignments for which your students need resources. This allows staff to gather the materials and advise what is available at your students’ reading levels (elementary through high school).
