Pilot Information
The Hayward Executive Airport is located close to several residential neighborhoods which are impacted by either noise and/or overflights. Controlling aircraft noise levels is a priority of the Hayward Executive Airport.
The City of Hayward implemented an Aircraft Noise Ordinance that specifies noise limits for aircraft operating at the Hayward Executive Airport. To comply with the ordinance, please follow these Noise Abatement Operational Procedures that have been established for pilots:
The Noise Abatement information is broadcasted on radio frequency 122.85Mhz.
Pilots are instructed to follow these specific noise-reducing flying techniques:
- avoid overflights of residential areas unless absolutely necessary for safety reasons;
- increase altitude to decrease the noise impact to the community;
- climb as soon as possible since a low-flying aircraft is perceived by the community as being dangerous;
- follow the Noise Abatement Procedure Map showing Hayward's most noise sensitive areas, traffic patterns with altitudes, and preferred departures
