Sneak Preview of 21st Century Library Design – November 18, 2014

There will be a special celebration and a sneak preview of the 21st Century Library Design on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., held at the Hayward City Hall, Room 2A.

This event is being hosted by The Friends of the Hayward Public Library. Refreshments will be served at 6:00 p.m., followed by a review of the designs at the Hayward City Council Meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m.

2014 Small Business Workshops: November 19, 2014 postponed to February 11, 2015

In collaboration with the City of Hayward and the Hayward Chamber of Commerce, the Alameda County Small Business Development Center will be hosting free workshops for Small Businesses. The first workshop will be on the “Top 10 Online Marketing Tools” and will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Hayward City Hall, Council Chambers.

The second workshop on the topic “Meet the Lenders” was originally scheduled to be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014; however, this workshop is being postponed until Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

Community Meeting – Weekes Community Park Master Plan

The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD) is hosting a community meeting on October 28, 2014 – 6:00 p.m at 27182 Patrick Avenue, Hayward where they will be seeking input from the public regarding the creation of a new master plan for the Weekes Community Park. Representatives from HARD as well as RRM Design Group Architects will be present at this meeting.

Today, September 23, 2014, is National Voter Registration Day, a nationwide effort to register hundreds of voters on one single day and to celebrate democracy. Registering to vote online only takes a few minutes and allows you to exercise your right.

If you prefer the traditional approach, you can obtain voter registration applications at the Alameda County Registrar of Voters, Office of the City Clerk, post offices and public libraries.

The last day to register to vote for the November General Election is October 20, 2014.

The Alameda County Registrar of Voters is accepting applications for the High School Student Poll Worker Program.

High School Student Poll Workers:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must have minimum  of 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale
Must attend a mandatory 1-hour online training
