The mission of the Development Services Department is to help manage the future development of Hayward, in order to assure the economic and environmental health of the community and a high quality of life for its residents, protect the health and safety of the community through building inspection and enforcement of codes and standards, and provide new housing opportunities for the residents of the City.
Development Services Department staff are ready to assist you through our processes. While staff ensures development is consistent with the policies and standards of the City, I want to assure you that providing exemplary customer service and assistance is of upmost importance to us. | The Building Division reviews plans, approves permits and provides inspections for construction projects in conformance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 24 Building Code, Mechanical Code, Electrical Code and Plumbing Code, as adopted and amended by the City of Hayward. The Building Division is committed to fulfilling the needs of our community, protecting the lives and safety of the citizens of Hayward, to preserve the City quality of life and contribute to the City’s economic development. We work to promote and ensure that all new structures, both public and private construction, meet all of the required standards of safety. We are dedicated to providing the very best service to our customers. |
