The City Attorney is the department head for the City Attorney’s Office, a full service Legal Department. The City Attorney is the chief legal advisor to the City of Hayward. The City Attorney serves as “corporate” legal counsel to the City as an entity and advises the City Council and staff on contractual, regulatory and litigation matters involving the City, including:
  • Real Property transactions, land use, municipal utilities, code enforcement, elections, personnel, labor relations, contracts, procurement and other internal services.
  • Litigation in State and Federal Court.
  • Risk Management activities, including Insurance, Restitution, Claims and Litigation
